New Growth

With new ownership, Taos has embarked on an exciting new phase of development. This includes installing a high-speed quad chair lift (operational in 2018/2019), building the luxurious Blake Hotel, renovating the Bavarian restaurant and lodge, expanding The Phoenix restaurant, updating the Children’s Center and creating a Gondolita from it to the village center, restoring the Hondo stream, and making underground improvements.

It’s a great time to come and check out these advances that are reinvigorating Taos Ski Valley. Yes, these upgrades bring construction (and sometimes dust) but the Ski Valley still provides a quiet, soul-restoring getaway nestled in the whispering aspen and evergreens above the Town of Taos. Come hike, bike, climb, or sit on the deck of one or more of Taos Ski Valley’s dining spots. Enjoy the sound of the Rio Hondo. Take it all in.

Change is in the air!

Beat summer’s heat at 9,300 feet in Taos Ski Valley; it’s a breath of fresh air… literally as well as figuratively. The valley and village are alive with musical performances, educational programs, and outdoor activities. Visitors can hike up multiple ski valley trails including to Williams Lake or Wheeler Peak (New Mexico’s highest), mountain bike, rock climb, fish, meditate, or simply take in the Sangre de Cristo vistas. View more summer activities here.

Although renowned for its expert terrain, Taos Ski Valley has plenty of runs for intermediates and beginners including new beginner hills and a Gondolita lift service. There are also multiple options for those who don’t shred. One can put up one’s feet and watch others charging the runs from the deck at the St.Bernard, take a snowmobile tour of the high country with Big Al, kick back in a hot tub, or enjoy the incredible spa services offered in the valley. If you’re travelling with kids, check the Children’s Center for fun options. For more winter activities, click here

From live music to trail running, Taos Ski Valley offers a bit of everything. Come up to the chalet-style Hotel St.Bernard for a classical music concert, the Bacon & Brews festival on the Blake Plaza, either a summer or winter wine tasting, or for the challenging Up & Over 10K Trail Run.
